2021-now | Participant Rover Science Operations Working Group (RSOWG) & Rover Science Operations Simulations Meetings on science objectives, planning and simulated decision making related to the ExoMars Rosalind Franklin rover. |
2021-2024 | Faculty Council member at ESA Tasks include reviewing faculty research proposals, judging visitor funding requests and organising a science workshop for internal staff. The aim is to foster a productive scientific environment in the directerate of science. |
2019-2020 | Sciece video producer at Utrecht University Developed 12 outreach videos of about 3 minutes. Tasks included script writing, filming, animating, video editing, audio editing, publishing and creating web graphics in relation to the Brunings Lectures. |

Outreach activities
- To PhD or not to PhD - talk to master students at Utrecht University about my experience at ESA and as a PhD candidate and what to consider when choosing a PhD (16-02-2022).
- Brunings lecture - yearly event on estuaries that brings science, industry, consultancy and government together (14-01-2020). I developed short videos for different scientists of Utrecht University working on estuaries (bruningslecture.nl).
- Hackathon Duurzame Bodemligging Rijntakken - the ministry of infrastructure and environment conducted a MIRT-investigation to prevent continuous river bed erosion, supported by Arcadis. A brainstorm event was organised with 20-25 young, multidiciplinary professionals (10-2017).
- PABO-students meet scientists - students of the training teacher program at Hogeschool Utrecht were invited to ask question and look around different workplaces at the University (16-11-2017).
- Preparation and instruction of the minimetronome on Terschelling - several institutions on the island (staatsbosbeheer, rijkswaterstaat, primary schools, VMBO) constructed their own tidal flume. As a representative of Utrecht University I instructed teachers on doing experiments (03-05-2017).
- Development educational posters - 3 posters were developed for schools (primary, secondary or higher education) that develop their own flume for tidal experiments (05-2017).
- Tours at the Metronome facility - for example for primary school children (11-16-2016), the master introduction week (08-30-2016), students of the training teacher program at Hogeschool Utrecht (09-02-2016) and MBA studenten (06-12-2016).
- Guided river experiments - for students and parents during events like open days of the University or a parents day of Earth Sciences (04-18-2015). As a master student I teached 4 vwo (highschool) students of the Junior College Utrecht about river experiments.
