Making Laqcuer peels!

Thanks to an excellent explanation from Janrik van den Berg, me and Wietse van de Lageweg were able to make some nice laqcuer peels from the cores were brought back from the Walsoorden Fieldwork. It was a bit sticky, and potentially unhealthy, but the result is very nice if I may say so myself. Before we started I was looking forware to learning this new skill, but I was a bit skeptical about the aditional value next to our high resolution photographs. However, now I have seen the results, I believe many more people should use this technique. The sediment peels show many features we had not observed earlier: the angle of the layers in the sand became vissible, the peel revealed a burrow of a worm and we now observe much more detail in the layering.
