PhD-day in the dunes

A short (5min) movie of the PhD-day from our department. During this day, we went on an excursion to the Noordwest Natuurkern where we learned about dune blowouts. In the afternoon, we went blokarting and laser gaming in the dunes, after which we went for dinner at Aloha.
Although it was a surprisingly cold day, we had a lot of fun. The wind was very strong, so the sand transport and blokarting were pretty spectacular. An accident occurred during the afternoon activities, and one of our colleagues dislocated his shoulder. This was off course terrible for him, but everything turned out ok as he could already join us again for dinner.
