Our Vici-research-group visited Willem Toonen (PhD from Utrecht University) at Aberystwyth University where he is currently working. With his connections we set up some collaborations between our universities for estuarine research. Aberystwyth University has a lot of unpublished data in storage about the Dovey (Dyfi) estuary which would be verry intersting for us. Collaboration consists of arraging someone who will work on (and publish) their unpublished data and those results and a lot of spatial data (aerial photographs and Lidar) will come to the Netherlands so we can use it. The Dovey estuary will probably become a key subject in our modelling studies. To start off the trip, we started with a field excusion to the estuary off which you can see some picture below.
